My reason for teaching is simple. It is my absolute passion.

The Bhagavad Gita states that "yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self." This is why I created Navigate Om and is my goal with each practitioner. That each class is a journey to release what you don't need, what holds you back, and what clogs your channels for peace and bring you closer to your true being.

I hope that you will let me be apart of your yoga journey in any way that I can help, and I would love to have you as a part of mine.

"Yoga is the perfect opportunity to be curious about who you are."
- Jason Crandall

X, short for Alexandra, first began yoga when she was 14. Having an on-again off-again relationship with yoga, she always found herself turning back to her practice whenever things seemed way too out of order. While living in Washington state and after her most difficult time in life, she returned to her mat at a community college yoga class. Here, she realized yoga was her therapy and her calling and never looked back.

She developed a strong practice and immersed herself into a yogic lifestyle both on and off the mat. X obtained her 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified training through Sadhana Yoga School while living on Bethel Farms in Hillsborough, New Hampshire.

Her certification is in the traditional Eight-Limbed path of Ashtanga yoga and focuses in pranayama, meditation, Hatha flow and Vinyasa flow.

Since her training, she has taught in studio classes, private classes, outdoors at Bushnell Park in Hartford for classes upwards of 100 attendees, and has led guided meditations at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut.

She most enjoys channeling the female spirit and hopes to work doing prenatal and post-natal classes as well as using yoga as a form of therapy and confidence building for young women and women recovering from abuse.

X uses her knowledge of anatomy, the beauty of yogic philosophies, and her sense of humor in her teachings. Her classes can be described as all-levels, suitable for all genders, non-intimidating, spiritual and nurturing.

  • X has this amazingly cool and collected energy about her and her yoga style that not only makes you immediately feel comfortable but encourages you to work to your fullest potential. From the atmosphere, music, to her unique flow and visible passion X creates a yoga class that you can't help but make apart of your regular yoga regime. Namaste to a great teacher!

  • X is a fantastic instructor. Not only does she guide the class, she creates such an energized, but soothing atmosphere as well. It was unlike any other class I have taken, and I LOVED it! I have attended multiple classes now, and can't wait to take more. I always leave feeling confident, and proud of what we accomplished in class, and relaxed after being surrounded by such wonderful energy.

  • X is phenomenal! I always leave her classes feeling refreshed and accomplished. Between the soft music, light scents, and dim lighting, she creates a very warm and relaxing environment. Whether you're big into exercise or not at all, I would recommend her class. You'll get the best of both worlds between a nice work out and complete relaxation, and will leave her class feeling rejuvenated!

  • X's classes always strike the perfect balance between a good workout and a peaceful yoga experience. After having been away from yoga for a bit, I was pleasantly surprised to have all my senses engaged. The singing bowl, subtle scented aromas, subdued lighting, music, chanting, and invigorating vinyasa flows are unlike any class I've ever taken. Simply amazing!!

  • X's practices show that Yoga is more than just a class, it's a community. Her cool and collected manner transfers to her teachings, making you feel like you've just entered her living room. With soothing scents, relaxing head massages, singing bowls, chanting and, of course, an effective workout, her classes embrace students with ALL aspects of Yoga. The perfect end to any day; an evening with friends.
